It’s wonderful at this time of year how charitable people are, with charitable donations massively increasing in the month of December. *Researchers found that 3 per cent of people said they gave £200 or more to charitable causes, with people aged 18 to 24 being the most generous age group.
But it really saddens me to know there are people in society that are very opposite to this! And when I heard about the director of My Sister’s House Centre, Julie Budge and how she had recently had her car broken into, with eight bags of clothes, donated to children and families across West Sussex, it really pulled on my heartstrings!
In an interview with local radio station Spirit FM Julie said:
"It's shocking and sad to see that not only have they broken into the car, taken all the items and damaged my car when, actually, if they'd have called into the women's centre we would have given it to them for free.
"Thieving off people in need is the reason that I'm highlighting it - they don't need to do that, they just need to access all the organisations around that can help them get clothing, vouchers, advice, support, practical stuff - they just don't need to do that.
"Behind the scenes of taking things from other people at this time of year, has impacted probably ten or 15 families that would have had those clothes and those donations."
So, in true Cathedral Wealth Management style we decided to cover all the costs of the stolen donations so the Children and Families of West Sussex.
My Sister’s House Centre supports women and children from all backgrounds. For more information on how to donate to this wonderful charity click here and a Merry Christmas to everyone from Cathedral Wealth Management in Chichester
